SCARLET By A. C. Gaughen

I am pleased to say that I actually very much enjoyed this novel despite the loads of mixed reviews that I have seen floating around on the Internet. Though I can see where all of the negative reviews are coming from, all of the problems they complained about in this book didn't upset me that much (this may be because I love Robin Hood's story and am a sucker for anything related to it).

I will admit that sometimes the plot / pace of the story seemed a little bit off, but once you started thinking that it would either pick up the pace again or slow down enough for you to get a sense of what was going on. One thing that quite surprised me in this book was the plot twist because I really didn't expect it and once the "thing" was revealed I had to back and read it again just to make sure I was wrong.As for the rest of the book the intense action was never boring and always kept me on guard to see what would happen next, and I even found myself being sorta surprised by the villains in this book because sometimes their actions where surprising too. I say villains referring to Gisbourne and the Sheriff, though the Sheriff didn't play that big of the role throughout the novel as I expected him to.

For me the love triangle was really pointless because I really felt that Robin cared more for Scarlet than Little John. LJ struck me as a really immature boy who just liked fooling around with all of the girls, once he got what he wanted from Scarlet he would have probably just moved on to the next chase. I did get mad at Robin for pushing Scar away; though both of them need to learn how to express their feelings better.

Overall I really enjoyed this read and cant wait to read the next installment!!

GRAVE MERCY By

I am going to admit that by looking at the cover of this book I thought it was going to be super cheesy, but after reading the summary and realizing it was about (basically) assassin nun I just had to give it a chance.

I was quite pleased with this novel. It had just a little bit of everything such as action, mystery, romance, death, and betrayal, and none of these key items seem to overlap each other throughout the book which was a good thing and created a good flowing pace in the book which was neither boring nor too fast.

the characters where also very interesting and developed quite allot throughout the book. though some of the minor characters didn't develop as much as I would have liked them to, but I think that is do to the fact that we didn't see much of them like Beast and Annith and allot of other people.
I did like Ismae as a main character we not only got to see the strong. assassin side of her, but we also got to see the insecure, venerable, more feminine side of her that I don't think we get to see with most female protagonists because the authors tend to focus allot on making the females be strong and brave that they forget to add in the femininity in all of us which make them seem lees heroic and more like robots.

As for the romance in the book it was all very sweet and touching, but it was missing something. I cant quite place my finger on it, but it was lacking something. Now don't get me wrong, It wasn't bad or insta love or anything, but it could have been better.

grave Mercy is and exiting historical novel that will keep you on your toes, smile at the bad ass females, make you laugh at the characters wits, and wish for an extra chapter.

THE IMMORTAL RULES By Julie Kagawa

I have been kinda hesitant to start a Julie Kagawa novel because countless friends never stop praising her books; especially her Iron Fey series, so I was a little scared that I was going to end up being disappointed and let down by her writing,but that (Thank to god) is not the case

The plot in this novel was great it always kept me on my toes guessing on what would happen next, and I can rarely say that for a book. Julie's writing styles was also very enjoyable also very descriptive without getting boring or dull. Another aspect of the story I was worried about was the whole "vampire" thing. I am not saying that all "vampire" related books are bad, but with so many out there even a decent one, so I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that while Allie's vampireness (I am just going to call it that) played a key role in the story it didn't take over it.

Allie was a very interesting female lead. While she was cunning, ruthless, and brave she is also kind, protective, and loving which gives us the whole enchilada. One main thing that I LOVED about Allie was her humanness her will to survive. We see examples of this every time Allie comes close to death such as when she became a vampire, something she despised, and hated her entire life, but in the end she chose to live as her nightmare than cease to exist, and that is what made her relatable In my opinion.
As for the romance in the story it was somewhat insta love, but it built up to something really nice and promising that I a exited too see develop in the rest of the series. Another aspect of their romance that I enjoyed was that Allie was the strong vampire whilst Zeke was purely human. I am not saying that Zeke is weak, but it was nice seeing the girl being the predominantly stronger one after reading hundreds of Twilight like books where the guy is always strong and the girl is defenseless.

I am very exited to see where this series goes, and I am definitely going to check out the Iron Fey!!

THE COLLECTOR By Victoria Scott

I feel so proud of finishing and liking this book because I met the author and she signed it for me! eeeekk!

coming into the novel I had the feeling that it was going to be a common, cheesy romance novel, but it is so much more. It is a roller coaster made up of adventure, supernatural beings, romance, mystery that will have you turning pages until you are done.

Dante. His name is enough to send the most pure girl into sin (see what I did there?) but his confidence and overall attitude will entertain everyone and will always en up making you laugh. It was very entertaining to see everything through his point of view and get to experience everything first hand, and really feel that we where back stage and were in on some sort of secret that the rest of the characters don't know. Its the first time I have ever felt that way with a book.
One very big transformation was Charlie. At first I saw her as everyone else did. Pathetic, awkward, thin, little teen who probably spent her weekends watching doctor who (so basically me). At first I thought her annoying, but a few chapters in I realized that there was much more to her that met the eye, and the way she developed until the end of the book, faults and all, was pretty fantastic and exiting to read about.
Their romance was realistic I think. For Charlie it was love at first sight (obviously), but for Dante it took some time for him to see how Charlie was beautiful from the start, and even get to miss the original her once she started changing.

With plot twist being thrown at you from every direction you are always trying to figure out who is who and who does what, but in the end the result will leave everyone shocked.
