THE UNDERTAKERS By Ty Drago

The undertakers was a exiting read for the weekend because not only was it easy to understand and follow there was action and adventure on every page.

It was not one of the best written books of all time, but it did make me want to find out what happened in the end... so points for that!

Some of the characters where  very predictable. You knew what they where going to say, think, and act like from the moment they walked into the book, not that this is necessarily a bad thing, its just that I like it when characters surprise me in their actions and evolve into something in the end that I could have never foreseen, I didn't get that from this book.

The one unique thing about this book (that I found) was how the corpses could be temporarily damaged by salt water! who would have thought of that?!

Overall this book is great if you are having a lazy week and you don't want a book that will make you think more than you have to.

ENDERS GAME By Orson Scott Card

This book was recommended to me by Philip DeFranco (well he did not recommend to me personally, but he recommended it on his show...) so naturally I had to read it and I was NOT dissapointed.

Ender's game is about a futuristic earth that has been attacked twice by aliens called buggers ( I fell of my chair whilst reading the name for the aliens...pure gold! ). Seventy years have past since the last attack, so the government monitors all of the kids on earth to be able to choose the most intelligent and talented out of them all to take them to a special battle school, where they will be trained to be solders and prepare for the next alien invasion. That is where the story of Ender Wiggin begins....

Orson did a wonderful job in writing the characters in this book, I couldn't choose a favorite! (a close fave would be Ender though), he managed to remind us in every single chapter that the solders that earth was really planing to send against a alien invasion where just kids. Kids that had to grow up whether they liked it or not.

I'm not really a science fiction kinda girl, but this book has me seriously reconsidering!

(plus! there is a movie coming out this year!!)

SHADOW AND BONE By Leigh Bardvgo

For being Leigh´s first novel I was really impressed with how this turned out.
At first I had read mixed revies about this book. Some comments saying "I LOVED it! I NEED BOOK TWO NOW!" or comments saying "It was very dissapointing" or "A very dissapointing hero. I liked it all the way up to the middle..." and I can agree with both sides.

Alina, the main chracter, wasnt the best,(like I allready quoted), hero in history, but just like she said "Im not the world-saving type" and I quite agree with her. Never the less, she was still entertaining and fun to read about.

The character that I found tyhe most intresting was the Darkling. Mysterious and quite attractive (as I imagined him), the Darkling is the leader of the powerfull and elite Grisha. His life ambition (or so he says) is to destroy the fold, a area of evil and darkness that threatends to destroy the world they live in. The reason why I found him so intresting was that he didnt try to win over Alina right away, and that his feelings where believable, if not actualy real.

Im not going to say anything about Mal except that he is just gorgeous! ;)

THE KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO By Patrick Ness

I need book two. NOW.

DISCLAIMER! if you spend alot on money on tissues I am not responsible.

This book was so unique and amazing that I could not put it down for more that a minute. I dont know how Patrick came up with the NOISE, but I am glad he did! (If he had not there would be no book, and I would not be live right now).

I just felt a deep connection with the characters right away, I couldnt help but love or hate every single one of them in like the first two pages that said character was introduced.

Aaron I hated in the very early stages of reading about him, I am just not into religious fanatics.

As for Todd and Viola, I fell in love with them (again) in the very early stages of reading about they´re struggles and adventures. I found it very interesting to see Todd and Violas´realtionship grow, considering that Tom had never met a girl before.

One character that will ALWAYS stay in my heart is Manchee, (NO SPOILERS, BUT...*le goes into her room to cry for eternity), Manchee is Todd´s dog and best friend; even though tom may have not liked Machee at the beginning of the novel their relationship develops into something so pure and wonderful that I will always remember.

To not give ANY spoilers on the the book...BECAUSE EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT!...my review will stop here so you can hit  your local book store or go online to get this book. DO IT NOW!
PLUS I have heard some movie rumors! (*brb fangirling)

SHATTER ME By Tahereh Mafi

The cover. Im done.

Out of the many books that I have read where the main female character´s power is that her touch is lethal.
If Juliette (female lead) touches you she sends some sort of power through your body that inflicts pain and ultimatley death; I found this very unique and intresting, because I wanted to know what caused her powers.

The romance in this book I think was a little over done. From the first moment Juliette and Adam saw each other they just...coudnt keep their hands off. I wonder how frome a scared girl locked up in a cell, and that barely talked to anyone in her entire 17 years of existance becomes to a girl that suddenly has all the boys attention and apparently knows how to seduce a guy. I dont know how.

Warner was a stereo typical villan; he has an entire army at his diposal, he has insane obsession with Juliette, and he just happened to have immunity to Juliettes powers.

Over all this is a book to read if you want something fast and heart racing, but not expecting that much.

THE DROWNED CITIES By Paolo Bacigalupi

Beautiful. You may wonder why I choose this word to describe this book, I mean after all the subject is everything BUT beautiful. I use this word because the author does an EXCELLENT job in showing us the horrors of war and what people are forced to do in order to survive (though I will probably have nightmares for a while about the army of God).

My favorite character in the novel was Mouse/Ghost. Even when he was recruited into the UPF, torn away from Mahlia and his home, and even after all of the suffering he had to withstand AND cause he was able to remember in the end his humanity.

Lets be honest with ourselves. If you have already read this book you sensed the romantic tension between Ocho and Mahlia. PLEASE TELL ME I WASNT THE ONLY ONE WHO DID!

P.S.
I still wonder why Tool decided to help Mahlia...i will forever think over this.

bottom  line....ANYHITNG that Paolo writes I will read.

THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET By Brian Selznick

I REALLY enjoyed this book. It transported me into the streets and trainstations of  Paris in the 1930´s the author did an exellent job in conveying a mood of wonder and excitement.

The characters in this book where so well thought out that you could tell they where human, how they all had troubling pasts and stories to tell. Isabelle ended up winning my liking, not just because of her LOVE for books, but because of her sense of curiosity and adventure; how she befriended Hugo simply because she was intrigued of his actions and behaviors, and how she never gave up trying to figure out papa georges past.

Last but not least, the illustrations.

They where all so beautifull and mesmerizing, and it proves the point that one picture (or drawing) holds a million words.

This book is recomended to ANYONE with a love for the past, adventure, and movies.

LEGEND By Marie Lu

Let me just say....IT HAS BEEN A VERY LONG TIME SINCE A BOOK HAS MADE ME FEEL THIS WAY!! I just could not stop READING! I spent almost ALL of my Friday reading! at school the teachers had to ASK me to stop! well, onward with the review!

I felt the story was very unique and always kept me guessing. Marie Lu was allways one step ahead of me!
and I'm kinda a sucker for a falling for the enemy kinda story.

One of my favorite characters was Metias (June´s brother) even though we don't get to see much of him (i wont say why because of SPOILERS!) I liked him because of how he handled things. How he took care of June after their parents died in a car "accident", how he tries to make a better life for her, show her how to act to get somewhere in life. What I liked the most about him is how he was one of the first to discover  the  truth behind the "accident" and how he left clues so that June could see the truth too.

The relationship between Day and June was just so real and obvious since the first time they both laid eyes on each other, it was inevitable that any person would want them to be together. Day didn't know why he had helped June (a.k.a the girl) escape the fight she was in, and June was trying to catch the Republic´s most wanted criminal, but ended up falling for him.

I recommend this book to EVERYONE! you will LOVE it!

THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS By Rae Carson

I have been waiting soooo long to read this and I FINALLY got to read it, and i really enjoyed it!
The plot was VERY well thought out, the characters where REALLY well thought through, it was BEAUTIFULLY written, and the over all story was very entertaining and didn't leave me bored for a second!!

*SPOILERS!*

I CRIED when Humberto died!!! :( it happened so fast that it took me a couple of chapters to really believe that he was gone. Why do authors do this to us??

I really enjoyed Elisa´s transformation from the beginning of the book to the end. How at the beginning she was insecure and and not shure what god had in store for her, and how at the end, after having EVERYTHING she cared about ripped away, she transformed into a brave and honorable person, the person she was destined to be.

I didn't really understand the purpose for the godstones, but overall i really enjoyed it.

DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE By Laini Taylor

DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE

thrilling. If I had to use ONE word to describe this book, that would be it.

why; you ask?

let me explain.

The  characters where just so amazing, adventurous, and beautiful during the book. YES, they  where all that even from the first page. The character I found I could most relate with was Karou, the way she knew what she wanted and didn't back down from it, her artistic ways (I wish I could draw like her..) yep I loved her from the start. WITHOUT EVEN MENTIONING SHE HAS BLUE HAIR!

The romantic relationship with Akiva and Karou was just so.....(how could i describe it?)....there....if you know what I mean. The chemistry between them was evident from the saw each other again, (when you finish the book you will understand ;), and then it just exploded into love.

over all I REALLY enjoyed it. GET IT NOW.  cant wait to read book two!!
